Police Explain The Progress Of The Case Of A Singaporean Citizen Who Died At The Tanjung Duren Transjakarta Bus Stop

JAKARTA - The Grogol Petamburan Police continue to investigate the deaths of Singaporean citizens who were found dead at the Transjakarta Tanjung Duren Bus Stop, West Jakarta, on Wednesday, February 26. Until now, the police are still waiting for the results of the post-mortem from Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) to determine the exact cause of the victim's death.

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Grogol Petamburan Police, AKP Muhammad Aprino Tamara, revealed that based on CCTV camera footage at the location, the victim was seen suddenly falling down and experiencing seizures before finally dying. The results of the initial examination by the Indonesian Team's Automatic Fingerprint Identification System (Inafis) also found no signs of violence on the victim's body.

"We are still waiting for the results of the post-mortem from the hospital and will continue to develop the investigation," said AKP Aprino, Friday, March 1.

The police have also coordinated with the Singapore Embassy to seek further information about the identity of the victim and contact the family. Until now, no family has come to confirm the identity of the victim or take care of the return of the body.

In addition, the police are also investigating the victim's medical history to find out whether there is a congenital disease that contributes to his death. A number of witnesses at the scene continue to be questioned to ensure that there is no element of a criminal act in this incident.

"We urge the family or fellow victims who know him to immediately contact the police to speed up the process of identifying and repatriating the bodies," he added.

Authorities have promised to continue to investigate the case transparently and ensure that no criminal element is involved in the incident.
