Hasto Yakin Kubu Tidak Salah, KPK: Penyidik Kerja Tak Sebarang, Punya Bukti
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that it has evidence to determine the Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto as a suspect in the bribery case for the management of interim replacement (PAW) members of the DPR RI and the obstruction of the investigation. Investigators as law enforcement officers cannot work carelessly.
"If currently being asked, of course law enforcement, in this case investigators will definitely convey there is evidence to determine HK as a suspect," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika to reporters quoted on Friday, February 28.
Tessa said the evidence would certainly be presented in court when the file has been submitted to court. Hasto's camp can also test it.
Thus, Hasto and his lawyers were asked to follow the legal process according to statements on various occasions. "I think this can be a good form of education if the argument is tested at the time the trial of the case opens later," said a spokesman with the investigator's background.
"At that time it was new, HK could convey to the judges or the panel of judges whether the evidence exists or not, enough or not. That is the right arena," he continued.
Hasto claimed to be innocent in connection with the bribery case to smooth the way for former PDIP candidate Harun Masiku as a member of parliament. He also did not hinder the investigation by assisting the fugitive from the anti-corruption commission.
"From the facts of the trial of the case that has been signed, there is no evidence related to bribery or obstruction of justice," Hasto told reporters after undergoing examination as a suspect at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, February 27.
Previously reported, the KPK developed an interim replacement bribery (PAW) case that ensnared former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan and his fugitive, Harun Masiku. Two people were later named as suspects, namely PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and Donny Tri Istiqomah who are PDIP cadres as well as lawyers.
Hasto is also a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation. He is suspected of trying to obstruct the legal process, one of which is by asking Harun to damage his cellphone and run away after the arrest operation (OTT) was carried out.
