Kejari Bintan Tahan 7 Tersangka Korupsi Dana Wisata Mangrove

TANNJUNGPINANG - Kejaksaan Negeri (Kejari) Bintan, Kepulauan Riau (Kepri) menahan tujuh orang tersangka kasus dugaan korupsi penyelenggaran dana pengelolaan kegiatan wisata mangrove di Sungai Sebong, Kecamatan Teluk Sebong, Kabupaten Bintan.

Head of the Bintan District Attorney's Office (Kajari) Andi Sasongko explained that the seven suspects were Camat Teluk Sebong, Julpri Andani, Head of the Bintan Food Security Service Sri Heny Utami, and Head of Sebong Maslan Village.

Furthermore, the Secretary of the Bintan Village Community Empowerment Service, Herika Silvia, the Head of Sebong Pereh Village for the 2017-2022 La Anip term, then the Head of Baru City, Hairuddin, and the Acting Head of Sebong Village, Lagoi Herman Junaidi.

"The suspects are assigned to the Tanjungpinang Detention Center for the next 20 days," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, February 27.

He said the determination and detention of the seven suspects was the result of an investigation carried out by the Bintan Kejari Special Crime Investigation Team (Pidsus).

Prior to that stage, his party had examined 62 witnesses including seven suspects and two expert witnesses.

The suspects are suspected of misappropriation of levies on tourists entering the Sebong River mangrove tourist area from 2017 to 2024. The money should have gone into the Bintan Regency Government's regional treasury, but it was misappropriated for personal purposes.

"The state loss in this case is estimated at IDR 861,420,000," he said.

The seventh act of allegedly violating alternative articles is Article 11 or Article 12 Letter e of Law 31 of 1999 as amended and added to Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 and Article 65 of the Criminal Code.

"The suspects are threatened with 20 years in prison," said Kajari Bintan.
