Bali Provincial Government Prepares IDR 5 Trillion To Build Roads To Overcome Congestion
DENPASAR - The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of Bali has prepared temporary funds of IDR 5 trillion to build road infrastructure to overcome traffic jams in the area.
This was conveyed by the Governor of Bali Wayan Koster on the first day of work and acted as inspector of the 237th Anniversary of Denpasar City in Denpasar, Bali, Thursday, February 27.
"It's not calculated by Denpasar, but throughout Bali, so the total temporary count is IDR 5 trillion, Denpasar and Badung priorities," said Koster.
The Rp5 trillion budget itself does not entirely come from the Bali Provincial Budget but also contributes to the budget from related districts/cities, where the development plan begins in 2026.
To overcome congestion, especially in Denpasar and Badung, the connecting road infrastructure will be built in the form of an underpass between Sunset Road and Mahendradatta Street, then Jalan Gatot Subroto Barat and Canggu.
Especially for Denpasar City as the city center of Bali, there will be additional special underpasses at congestion points such as Jalan Ahmad Yani, Jalan Tohpati, and connecting Jalan Akasia with Simpang Padanggalak.
"As well as the construction of the Sanur parking building and the shuttle road from the Sanur Beach parking lot to the Sanur Port so that there will be no more total traffic jams," said Koster.
He said road infrastructure development is part of the six priority visions, namely the fourth field, land, sea and air infrastructure and transportation.
According to Koster, this vision is to realize the capacity and quality of infrastructure and transportation with its mission to improve road infrastructure that connects cities/districts throughout Bali, accelerate the use of battery-based electric motorized vehicles, and solve traffic congestion problems.
