233 Residents Of Bandung Regency Affected By Floods Still Refuge

JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) stated that as many as 233 residents in Bandung Regency were still displaced due to flooding in their houses.

"The refugees consist of 76 families spread across Citeureup and Dayeuhkolot villages, West Bandung Regency," said Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center Abdul Muhari in Jakarta, Thursday, February 27, which was confiscated by Antara.

According to him, the refugees occupied the evacuation posts prepared at the Dayeuhkolot village office, and three points in Citeureup Village which occupied the An-Nur Mosque courtyard, cyber buildings and the Pondok Quran Earth.

Based on data received by BNPB, the number of displaced residents is the remainder of the total number of victims affected.

Earlier on Wednesday, February 26, it was reported that there were a total of 7,298 flood victims in Citeureup and Cangkuan Wetan villages, and Bojongsoang villages.

"The floods in these villages have now receded. But several other locations where inundation heights are still being monitored at 20'70 centimeters, so some residents are still displaced," he said.

He added that there were more than 1,600 houses affected by the flood, and three of them were heavily damaged by the flow of water.

Meanwhile, based on the latest data received by BNPB, he said, the flood, which was triggered by heavy rains since Tuesday, February 25, also caused minor - moderate damage to public facilities. Among other things, 17 units of places of worship buildings, five educational facilities and three public facilities in each affected village in West Bandung.

Abdul ensured that while carrying out the process of collecting data on the impact of the disaster, the joint team of officers in West Bandung Regency would also prioritize the fulfillment of basic necessities to affected residents in order to reduce their difficulties in dealing with the conditions of this wet hydromereorological disaster.
