KPU Needs A Budget Of IDR 486.3 Billion To Hold PSU In 24 Regions
The General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia requires a budget of IDR 486.3 billion to follow up on the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) regarding the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) re-voting (Pilkada) in 24 regions.
This was conveyed by the Chairman of the Indonesian KPU, Mochammad Afifuddin in a joint meeting with Commission III of the DPR and the Ministry of Home Affairs at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, February 27.
"In total ladies and gentlemen, and leaders of commission members, the estimated need is at Rp486,383,829,417," Afif said in a joint working meeting with Commission II, DPR Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, February 27, 2025.
Afif also explained that the need for additional budgets for the implementation of PSU in various regions is also different. According to him, there are several regions that have to hold PSU at 100 percent of polling stations, and some are only part of the polling station.
Afif explained, there are 26 KPU Work Units (Satker) that require the implementation of the PSU. Of the 26 Satkers, he said, there were six KPU Satkers that did not require additional budget because they still had the rest of the 2024 Pilkada Regional Grant Agreement (NPHD).
However, Afif said, as many as 19 KPU Satkers still had a budget shortage with a total shortage of IDR 373,718,524,965.00.
"Then there is one KPU Satker, namely Jayapura district which does not require a fee because it is only administrative in the repair of the decree, it is related to the budget," he said.

So far, continued Afif, the KPU ranks have held a complete plenary meeting after the Constitutional Court's decision. From the meeting, said Afif, the KPU made a policy to form an adhoc body for the PSU.
He said PPK, PPS, and KPPS could be formed according to the needs in the implementation of Re-voting, Re-voting Counting, and Re-voting Recapitulation. Afif said the formation was carried out with a re-lifting mechanism based on the results of performance evaluation.
"If there are PPK, PPS, and KPPS who resign or do not meet the requirements as PPK, PPS, and KPPS, the Regency/City KPU can replace the list of candidates for PPK, PPS, and KPPS according to the interim replacement mechanism," he said.
