KPU Proposes PSU To Be Held Saturday From March 22 To August 9
The Indonesian KPU proposed that the re-voting (PSU) in 24 regions be held on Saturday from March 22 to August 9, 2025. This proposal is based on the time limit given by the Constitutional Court (MK).
KPU commissioner, Idham Holik, said Consider the KPU to implement the PSU on Saturday because it is generally a holiday or a work holiday. So there is no need to issue a holiday letter or day that is closed as an effort to encourage community participation.
"Saturday is our policy choice because of the consideration of holidays, there is no need for a holiday policy," said Idham in a meeting with Commission II of the DPR and the Ministry of Home Affairs at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta Thursday, February 27.
For a minimum time limit of 30 days, namely North Barito Regency, Magetan, West Bangka, Siak, a PSU will be held on March 22, 2025. By considering sufficient time for logistics procurement and sufficient time to socialize the re-voting day (PSU) and submit notification letters or known as the notification model C form.
"The closest Saturday before the deadline for the implementation of the Constitutional Court's decision is on 22 (March). So after the voting was carried out on 22nd, a day later the KPU in the regions immediately recapitulated so that the final limit was not missed," explained Idham.
Meanwhile, the maximum time limit of 45 days in 5 areas, namely Sabang City, Talaud Islands Regency, Banggai, Bungo and Taliabu Islands, will be held on April 5, 2025.
Then the PSU who was given a deadline of 60 days, namely Banjar Baru City and Serang Regency, Tasikmalaya Regency, Empat Lawang, Kutai Kertanegara, North Gorontalo, South Bengkulu, Parigi Moutoung, will be held on April 19, 2025.
Then the 90-day deadline in Mahakam Ulu Regency, East Kalimantan, Pesawaran Lampung Province, and Palopo City, Sulawesi will be held on May 24, 2025.
The last deadline of 180 days, such as in the districts of Boven Digoel, South Papua and Papua Province, will be held on August 9, 2025.

"Overall, the proposed voting date is for 30 days on March 22, 2025. (Term Delay) 45 days on April 5, 2025, 60 days on April 19, 2025, 90 days on May 24, 2025 and 180 days on August 9, 2025," explained Idham.
