Polda Metro Disbursed Enforcement Of Drug Cases, 1,244 Suspects And Confiscated Hundreds Of Kilo Evidence

The Directorate of Drug Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police explained the results of the prosecution carried out over the past two months. A total of 1,244 people were named suspects and confiscated hundreds of kilograms of various types of narcotics.

"During the period not January to February, the Directorate of Drugs at Polda Metro Jaya and the police have arrested 1,244 suspects suspected of having committed drug crimes, whether as dealers or as addicts or users," said Director of Drug Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ahmad David to reporters, Thursday, February 27.

The thousands of suspects consisted of 1,187 men and 57 women. However, the number of cases that had been revealed during that period was not disclosed in detail.

It is only stated that there are three most prominent cases that have been revealed by the ranks of the Metro Jaya Police's Narcotics Investigation Directorate and the ranks of the police.

The first case is the disclosure of the circulation of marijuana-type narcotics. It began in the process of investigating the information on the delivery of marijuana from the Mandailing Natal area, North Sumatra to Jakarta.

The series of investigations were carried out until finally the circulation effort was thwarted on December 13, 2024. A total of 209 kilograms of marijuana were confiscated.

"There are two suspects as dealers, in this case they are intermediaries or couriers. The person concerned gets a salary of Rp. 200 thousand to Rp. 1 million per kilogram," he said.

The disclosure was re-developed. As a result, action was taken in the Kemang area, South Jakarta with evidence of marijuana weighing 9 kilograms on February 13.

The second case is related to the circulation of 14 thousand ecstasy pills revealed by the Cengkareng Police. In that case, two people were named suspects. They are the owners and dealers of these illicit goods.

"The mode is to use a bus from Pekanbaru and then arrive at Bakauheni Port and change its private car. Then when they arrive in Jakarta, they are sent using an expedition transportation service to the Palembang area," he said.

Finally, the case of a clinical lab that makes the shophouse selling cellphones as camouflage. The case, which was revealed by the South Tangerang Police, named two suspects who acted as workers or designers.

"The production of narcotics in rented, contracting camouflage or cell phone shop, but above it is used to produce 617 kilograms of illegal goods revealed by the South Tangerang Police," said Ahmad.

From a series of disclosures of cases over the past two months, various types of drugs were confiscated, among others; marijuana as much as 310, 35 kilograms; synthetic tobacco or gorillas as much as 617.34 kilograms; ecstasy as much as 19,000 pills; shabu 11.79 kilograms; dangerous drug 67,784 pills.

Then, liquid narcotics containing 504.58 ml of THC liquid; 2.83 kilograms of Ketamina; 978.57 grams of synthetic seed powder.

"If we calculate with users, we have saved 3.2 million people in Jakarta and its surroundings," said Ahmad.
