Polish PM: European Leaders Should Not 'Syer' To Russia Over Ukraine's War

JAKARTA - Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk urged European leaders to reject the "capitulation" of aka surrendering to Russia over Ukraine's war.

This was conveyed by Tusk ahead of a virtual meeting of EU leaders to discuss the war following US President Donald Trump's offer to Moscow.

"We cannot approve Ukraine's handover to Russia's demands, however, we call it an impudent charge, including territorial demands," Tusk said in a video posted on X.

Members of the European Union's National Leadership Council will hear an explanation from French President Emmanuel Macron during his visit this week to Washington, where he met Trump.

Macron and Trump on Monday pointed to the striking difference in their approach to Ukraine, suggesting a split between the United States and Europe over Trump's efforts to reach a swift ceasefire agreement with Russia.

"We all hope that the war will end soon, and Europe wants to take the most clear possible position," said Tusk.

Although Poland will not send its troops to future peacekeeper missions in Ukraine, Tusk stressed that it is ready to provide any logistical assistance.

"Even on a larger scale, if needed," he said.
