The Ministry Of Industry Will Issue An Apple Product TKDN Certificate Soon
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) will soon issue a Domestic Component Level (TKDN) certificate for Apple Inc.
This follows the completion of the negotiation process between the Ministry of Industry and Apple and the achievement of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for a number of investment realizations in Indonesia.
"So with the completion of negotiations between the Ministry of Industry and Apple which have been signed in the MoU document, the process of issuing TKDN certificates for Apple can be started," said Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita in a press conference at her office, Wednesday, February 26.
Agus said that the process of controlling TKDN certificates could be carried out as soon as possible.
However, there are a number of administrative documents that need to be submitted by Apple to support the control of the TKDN certificate.
According to Agus, Apple has now started to fulfill the required administrative documents, so that it can directly process the TKDN certificate.
"All certificate needs have been carried out by Apple, the process will be as soon as possible," he said.
When asked further whether the TKDN series for Apple products could be published in March, Agus continued to emphasize as soon as possible.
Furthermore, Agus assessed, negotiations with Apple were not easy.
Even until Wednesday afternoon, the Ministry of Industry and Apple are still discussing further points that can or cannot be included in the MoU document.

"As predicted, so until 15 minutes ago we were still making adjustments to communication with Cupertino (as Apple's headquarters in the US) on several items that we could enter into the MoU or which we couldn't enter into the MoU," said Agus.
However, in the end, the MoU document was agreed upon and signed by both parties. For the time being, the signing of the document is carried out electronically.
From the Ministry of Industry, the signing was represented by the Director General (Dirjen) of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment and Electronics (ILMATE) of the Ministry of Industry, Setia Diarta.
Furthermore, Apple was represented by Apple's Senior Director and Head of Government Affairs Elizabeth Hernandez.
