Hashim Explains A Number Of Projects Will Be Funded By Danantara
JAKARTA - The Presidential Special Envoy for Climate and Energy as well as the younger brother of President Prabowo Subianto, Hashim Djojohadikusumo revealed a number of projects that will be financed by the Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara).
Hashim said that one of the projects that will be financed by Danantara is the energy sector in line with the government's plan to increase the power generation capacity by 100 gigawatts (GW), of which 75 percent or 75 GW comes from new and renewable energy (EBT).
Many countries in the majority of the world don't have it, this is 7 GW a year. The 75 GW [capacity] is expected from renewable energy. Renewable energy, then 4.3 GW is expected from nuclear," he said at the CNBC Economic Outlook 2025 event, Wednesday, February 26.
Hashim said the government had also discussed with delegates from several countries, including Russia, to discuss nuclear projects.
"We want to build a nuclear and let's offer the best proposal," said Hasyim.
In addition, Hashim said the government would also build a gas project for generators with a capacity of 22 GW.
"We expect this from BP, Exxon, hopefully from Japan Inpex and others, it can produce, if I'm not mistaken, ENI from Italy, from Mubadala, Mubadala Energy in Andaman, in the Ambat Sea. So this is 103 GW in total," he said.
Hashim explained that these projects will later be financed by the government through Danantara and foreign investors such as Qatar, Abu Dhabi, China, and Europe who are interested in investing in Indonesia, especially in the energy sector.
"So some of these projects may be financed by Danantara. But the government hopes that foreign investors will also be involved. So if possible, Danantara will become a co-investor with foreign investors," he said.
"Co-investors and Danantara should not be 100 percent. If possible, intermediate co-investors with projects and I heard that Qatar, Abu Dhabi, China, European countries are interested. So Danantara has become a co-investor, it also guarantees foreign investors that the state is taking risks and and the state is responsible for the success of these projects," he said.
In addition, Hashim conveyed a number of other projects that will be financed by Danantara such as hydro power, geothermal and diesel.
"There are so many of these projects. There is hydropower, there is geothermal, there is diesel, there is wind," he said.
Previously, President Prabowo Subianto officially launched the Anagata Nusantara Power Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) today. Danantara is authorized to manage investment holding dividends, operational holdings, and BUMN dividends.
