MAGELANG - The Magelang Police, Central Java, conducted an investigation at the scene of the incident (TKP) of an explosion that was suspected of being made of firecracker powder. As a result of the explosion, one person died.
Head of Public Relations of the Magelang Police, Iptu Abdul Muthohir, said the explosion at Jalan Pasar Ring, Sumberejo Village, Mertoyudan District, Magelang Regency, resulted in Ellen Putra Ramadhan (21) dead.
The explosion that occurred on Thursday, April 22, in the early hours of the morning also caused Ellen's friend, Teddy (21), a resident of Treko Village, Mungkid District, suffered serious injuries. The victim was taken to Tidar Hospital, Magelang City.
The explosion also resulted in the roof of the house where the incident was destroyed. Currently, Magelang Police officers are still investigating. The officer conducts the crime scene (TKP) to find traces or items that are suspected to have caused the explosion.
Muthohir said the suspected explosion of firecrackers occurred at around 01.40 WIB.
"When Ellen arrived at the hospital, her life could not be helped, while Teddy is currently still being treated for serious injuries," he said.
This explosion originated from inside the living room, causing severe damage to the point where the roof and tiles fell apart and the walls of the house cracked.
"The explosion was identified from the middle room and caused considerable damage," he said.
There is some evidence that the fuse of the firecracker has been found that is still in the room.
"Based on witness testimony that the victim Ellen prior to the incident released last year's remaining firecracker powder. The powder was planned to be refined by using a glass, but it would not take long for an explosion to occur. The temporary allegation is the result of the victim's carelessness when making firecrackers," he said.
