I'm Well! Jakarta Provincial Government Free To Enter Museums For Residents With These 3 Categories
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government provides free museum entry services for residents with three categories, namely people with disabilities, the elderly and students receiving the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP).
Head of the Culture Protection Division of the DKI Jakarta Culture Service, Linda Enriqueany, said that the free services for the three categories are in accordance with Governor Regulation Number 8 of 2017 concerning Free Service for Entering the Tagunan Wildlife Park, Monuments for National Monuments and Museums on Ordinary Days for Certain Communities which will take effect on January 20, 2017.
"The reason is to support community activities and make it easier to get recreational services, especially for certain communities, namely people with disabilities, the elderly population and students receiving KJP," he said when contacted in Jakarta, Antara, Wednesday, February 26.
This free service is valid from Tuesday to Friday (except for national holidays and collective leave) at museums managed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through the Culture Service.
The museums in question are the Jakarta History Museum, the Taman Prasasti Museum, the MH Thamrin Museum, the Joang 45 Museum, the Rupa & Keramik Museum, the Wayang Museum and the Textile Museum.
Then, the Maritime Museum, Betawi Museum, Si Pitung House, Benyamin Suaeb Park and Onrust Archaeological Museum.
"The purpose of this (free service) is also to realize recreational services in museums that are safe, comfortable and cheap," said Linda.
Then, for those who want to take advantage of this service, they can show their ID card or KJP to museum officials.
Currently, there is one museum, namely the Wayang Museum which is embedded with technology and immersive experience, namely walls and floors in a room that are projected to move so as to provide a new atmosphere for visitors.
Visitors are presented with a unique experience related to the picture of wayang nusantara and special messages in it.
