DKI Provincial Government Opens Free Homecoming Mid-Ramadan, Residents Are Asked To Prepare The Conditions

"The decision is in mid-March," Syafrin told reporters, Wednesday, February 26.

Currently, the DKI Provincial Government is still procuring auctions for its implementation. The budget prepared to organize the DKI Provincial Government's free homecoming program this year is worth Rp. 16 billion.

"After there is a winner, then there will be preparations and it will also be announced for registration. So, please wait, when we announce it, of course there will be some prerequisites that must be met by the registrant," said Syafrin.

Syafrin said that the free homecoming quota for passengers and vehicles provided this year is more than in 2024.

For the record, the DKI Provincial Government's free homecoming quota last year was around 18 thousand people. This year, the target for residents to be accommodated for homecoming delivery is 22,400 for passenger transportation and 600 motorbikes for two directions.

"Tahun ini ada penambahan kapasitas jumlah bus, bertambah 21 persen. Jadi disiapkan sebanyak 293 bus yang akan diberangkatkan mudik gratis dan arus balik gratisnya sebanyak 228 bus," jelas Syafrin.

Ia pun menjelaskan alasan Pemprov DKI menambah kuota mudik gratis. "Tahun lalu banyak yang juga berharap ikut mudik gratis. Kemudian karena kuota kita juga sudah penuh, akhirnya mereka tidak terangkut. Sehingga, kapasitas busnya kita tambah (tahun ini)," tambahnya.

This year, the DKI Provincial Government will send residents to 20 cities in 6 provinces. Some of them are Palembang City, Bandar Lampung, Kuningan, Tasikmalaya, Tegal, Pekalongan, Sragen, DI Yogyakarta, Blitar, to Malang.
