Kominfo 'Surrounds' Joseph Paul Zhang On Social Media, A Total Of 44 Blocked Content

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) expands the blocking of Joseph Paul Zhang's content from various social media lines such as Twitter, Instagram to Facebook

Paul Zhang's content is considered to be divisive to national unity. "Kominfo acts firmly in handling hate speech content that has the potential to divide national unity, including that of Paul Zhang," said Kominfo spokesman, Dedy Permadi in a short message reported by Antara, Thursday, April 22.

Kominfo has asked platform organizers to block 44 of Paul Zhang's content. The details are 26 content on Youtube, 13 content on Facebook, 3 content on Instagram and 2 content on Twitter.

"In addition to the 44 content, Kominfo is also processing 23 content suspected of violating the law," said Dedy. The Kominfo cyber patrol team is still looking for content containing similar hate speech on various social media platforms.

Kominfo again asks netizens not to spread Paul Zhang's content or other content containing hate speech, hoaxes and cyber bullying.

"This is important to maintain national unity and integrity, as well as bring peace in the digital space," said Dedy.

Jozeph Paul Zhang, whose real name is Shindy Paul Soerjomoeljono, was hunted by the Indonesian police for making content containing hate speech and blasphemy.

Bareskrim Polri has submitted a request to the Directorate General of Immigration, Ministry of Law and Human Rights, to revoke Jozeph Paul Zhang's passport who is now abroad.

If the passport is revoked, he will become stateless or stateless and cannot travel to any country.
