Sri Mulyani Gives Exemption Of Import Duty To Taxes For International Race Prizes

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani Indrawati also provided fiscal facilities for the goods sent from the competition or international awards for Indonesian citizens (WNI) who made the nation proud.

This is stated in the Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 4 of 2025 concerning Customs, Excise and Tax Provisions on Imports and Exports of Delivery Goods which will take effect on March 5, 2025.

Meanwhile, the regulation is the second amendment to the goods sent previously regulated in PMK Number 96 of 2023 jo. PMK Number 111 of 2023.

The Sub-Directorate of Imports, Directorate of Customs Technical Affairs at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) of the Ministry of Finance Chotibul Umam said that this new rule also provides certainty and future solutions.

"The Minister of Finance has provided relaxation related to fiscal facilities for the delivery of competition prizes or international awards," he said in Media Briefing, Tuesday, February 25.

Chotib conveyed that Indonesian citizens (WNI) who receive gifts/appreciators can send one piece for each item in the form of medals, trophies, placards, badges, and/or other similar items, for other prize items.

He added that the delivery was given relaxation in the form of exemption from Import Duty (BM), except from Additional Import Duty (BMT), free of Value Added Tax (VAT), and exempt from Income Tax (PPh).

In addition, Chotib conveyed that there are several criteria that must be met so that the goods sent from the competition or awards from abroad get the first facility, which is a gift from the international competition or award which includes but is not limited to sports, science, arts, culture, and religion.

Next, the sender of Goods and/or Recipients is an Indonesian citizen who receives prizes from international competitions or awards.

Furthermore, there is document or proof of participation in international competitions or awards originating from ministries, institutions, or institutions in Indonesia; organizers of competitions or awards abroad; and/or national or international mass media.
