Commitment To Sustainability, MHU Wins Second Green PROPER In A Row
JAKARTA - PT Multi Harapan Utama (MHU) as one of the business units of MMS Group Indonesia (MMSGI) in the MMS Resources pillar line again won the Company Performance Rating Assessment Program (PROPER) with the Green rank at an event held at Sasono Langen Budoyo Building, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), Jakarta, on Monday 24 February.
Symbolically, this award was handed over by the Minister of Environment Hanif Faisol Nurofiq as a form of appreciation for the company's commitment to sustainable environmental management.
Minister of Environment Hanif Faisol Nurofiq emphasized that the PROPER aims to encourage companies in Indonesia to continue to improve compliance with environmental regulations and implement innovation in environmental management.
"To encourage various innovations and environmental leadership (green leadership) in the business world, the implementation of PROPER must continue to be developed in line with the best policies, science, technology, and practices applied in the business world. PROPER not only encourages increasing company compliance, but is also expected to make Indonesian companies a world-class company in environmental management," said Hanif Faisol.
Director of MHU, Faiz Firdaus Fauzan, said that this second consecutive Green PROPER is a tangible manifestation of MHU's commitment to implementing sustainability principles in every aspect of company operations.
"This award is clear evidence that MHU consistently integrates mining practices that are responsible for sustainability commitments. We believe that business growth must go hand in hand with concern for the environment. In the future, MHU will continue to develop innovations in environmental management to have a wider positive impact," said Faiz Firdaus Fauzan.
With this achievement, MHU further emphasized its position as a company that not only focuses on business aspects but also makes a real contribution to environmental protection and sustainable development in Indonesia.
The Green Ranking in the PROPER shows that MHU has carried out excellent environmental performance by meeting most of the applicable legal provisions and carrying out various innovations in environmental management.

Sustainable Waste Management
MHU together with the people of Central Jembayan, Loa Kulu, Kutai Kartanegara, established the Bumi Etam Lestari' waste bank as an effort to protect the environment while creating economic value. Household waste is sorted and processed into useful products, such as paving blocks and compost. This initiative is a real example of a community-based circular economy that not only reduces waste, but also empowers the community economically.
ERADICATION Of Renewable Energy Utilization And Emission Reduction
In the transition to sustainable energy, MHU has installed solar panels in its operational facilities, reducing dependence on fossil energy and suppressing emissions by up to 28%. With an annual electricity consumption of around 1.4 million kWh, MHU has succeeded in reducing emissions by 317 tons of equivalent CO2. Going forward, MHU plans to develop floating solar panels in post-mining ponds to further optimize environmentally friendly energy efficiency.
Conservation & Environmental Rehabilitation
MHU has reclamation of 16 hectares of former mining land into Bunsang habitats, which function as conservation areas, educational forests, research, and ecotourism. This quantity is also a center for local plant breeding and habitat for Kalimantan endemic species, including endangered slow loris. Through this rehabilitation program, MHU ensures ecosystem sustainability is in line with the company's vision, "Syncergy for the Future".
