Ford Delays New F-150 Launch Until 2028, Impacts On Launch Of The Latest Generation Ranger

JAKARTA - One of the leading automotive manufacturers from the United States (US), Ford is rumored to be launching the next generation of F-150 in 2027 which will affect the foundation of the new Ranger. However, the presence of the pickup must be delayed.

Launching from Automotive News written by Drive, Tuesday, February 25, the brand has told its suppliers that the current generation of F-150 will be extended to 2028.

This means that the large pickup will be sold for seven years or not 5-6 years as in the previous generation. This also affects the extension of the existence of the current generation of Rangers in the next few years.

Both the F-150 and the Ranger are built in the same modular architecture. Previously, the US auto giant had previously revealed a single platform for its global light commercial product lineup.

Previously, Ford reportedly stopped production of the Ranger for the North American foreign market in 2029 or 2030. This is followed by the US market which will stop the production of this double-cabin pickup in 2031.

Ford F-150 is one of the best-selling models in Uncle Sam's country market or a full-size pickup market competition.

The manufacturer has bagged more than 33 million units and made it the best-selling pickup truck since 1977, meaning the most sold in the United States compared to other brands of trucks.

Currently, Ford has sold a variety of models from the F-Series ranging from the F-150 celebrating its existence for 50 years to the F-600 for tougher work.

Ranger as the younger brother of F-150 was reintroduced to the US in 2019. Reportedly, the pickup became the 63rd best-selling car in the US last year, making it North America's seventh most popular Ford model.
