IDX Targets Transactions For Derivative Products To Reach 1 Million New Contracts By 2025
JAKARTA - PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (IDX) targets derivative product transactions as a whole to reach 750 thousand to one million new contracts by 2025.
"Throughout this year, we hope that there will be at least 750 thousand to 1 million contracts this year," said Director of Development of PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (IDX) Jeffrey Hendrik to the media crew, Tuesday, February 25.
Jeffrey conveyed that the contribution of derivative products to exchange liquidity is still relatively small because of its status as a new product, the IDX emphasizes the importance of education and familiarization to increase investor understanding of derivative potential and risk.
"Yes, maybe it's not big yet, because this is a new product that we hope will start with education after investors understand the potential and risks. Only then do transaction activities. So we prioritize education and familiarization for that," he said.
In addition, Jeffrey said the IDX will continue to disseminate information through roadshows to various regions together with AB derivatives and exchange teams so that investors will increasingly understand the potential and risks of derivative products.
On the other hand, Jeffrey said, the contribution of the derivative product to the average daily transaction value (RNTH) was not too large.

"The contribution to RNTH as a whole may not be too big but as an initial stage, we hope that this product will understand its potential and risks and can be utilized as well as possible by our investors to optimize profits," he added.
Jeffrey said that for now there are four Exchange Members (AB), namely PT Binaartha Sekuritas, PT Ajaib Sekuritas Asia, PT Phintraco Sekuritas, and PT Trust Sekuritas and will add four ABs in the future.
"There are four, currently there is Phintraco, there is Binaartha, there is Ajaib, and there is a Trust. This year we hope that there will be at least four more," he said.
