3 Couriers Of International Network Methamphetamine Arrested In South Sumatra, 15 Kg Of Evidence Destroyed
PALEMBANG The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of South Sumatra Province (Sumsel) destroyed 15 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine confiscated from three suspects from the Malaysia 'Pekanbaru' South Sumatra network.
Quoted by ANTARA, the destruction carried out in the courtyard of the South Sumatra BNN Office in Palembang on Tuesday, February 25, was led by the Head of the South Sumatra BNNP, Brigadier General Pol Guruh Achmad Fadiyanto.
Prior to the destruction, the Forensic Laboratory officer of the South Sumatra Police Branch checked the amphetamine and methamphetamine levels in the methamphetamine. After being confirmed positive for containing drugs, the evidence was immediately destroyed by being blended.
The disclosure of this case stems from a public report regarding the shipment of premium quality methamphetamine from the Malaysia 'Pekanbaru' South Sumatra network from the Tulung Selapan area, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, to Musi Banyuasin Regency and its surroundings.
The South Sumatra BNN eradication team then carried out an intensive investigation until Tuesday, January 21, 2025, successfully arrested a suspect with the initials Z on Jalan Lintas Betung Sekayu.
Z is known as an envoy in charge of taking drugs to be delivered to a dealer with the initials M in Kayu Ara Village, Sekayu City, Musi Banyuasin Regency.
"The team then moved quickly to M's house, who was waiting at that time. Z and his subordinates, S, who acted as welcomeers, would receive the methamphetamine," said Guruh Achmad Fadiyanto.
He added that BNN managed to catch S without raising suspicion. At that time, S, who thought the officer's car belonged to M, immediately walked over to him and was immediately arrested by an undercover team.

The suspects face life imprisonment or the death penalty.
