YouTube For Android TV Adds "Dubbed" Tag For AI Translation Audio
JAKARTA YouTube on Android TV now displays the "Dubbed" tag to tag a video that has been translated using AI technology. This feature aims to expand the content reach to a global audience by providing auto-dubbing audio according to the user's region language.
The "Dubbed" tag appears as gray text under the title video, channel name, and number of viewers, similar to the "Subtiles" tag indicating the existence of translational text. Small icons of people speaking images are also added to show that video original audio may not be in the user language.

Currently, the existence of the "Dubbed" tag is rarely found and appears to depend on content creator decisions. On the desktop, this tag appears under the video title while playing, while on Android TV and Google TV, this information is only visible when browsing the video list because the player control is minimized when the video is selected.
YouTube has opened the AI clubbing feature for all creators, but they have the option to disable it when uploading videos. While this feature works quite well, there is still a possibility of translation errors or a lack of specific cultural nuances. However, this innovation could enrich viewing options for Android TV and Smart TV users around the world.
