Qatar Signs Agreement With AI Scale To Use AI To Improve Government Services

JAKARTA - The Qatar government has signed a five-year agreement with data firm AI, Scale AI, to implement AI-based equipment and training in an effort to improve government services in the Gulf Arab country. This was said by a senior executive Scale AI on Sunday, February 23.

"(This agreement) can be a blueprint for other governments around the world, and allow us to be truly committed in a way that I think could drive the impact faster," said Trevor Thompson, head of global growth at a company based in San Francisco, California. VOI from Reuters.

The deal will allow the Qatari government to adopt tools such as predictive analytics, automation, and advanced data analysis in an effort to simplify operations, according to statements from Qatar's Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.

The AI scale will develop more than 50 possible use of artificial intelligence (AI) for the Qatari government in the next five years, the statement added. Thumpson declined to mention the value of this deal.

Qatar, a wealthy gasmaker and longtime US ally, is racing to become the leader of AI amid rising competition from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Founded in 2016, Scale AI provided large amounts of data that have been labeled accurate for use in training tools such as OpenAI's ChatGPT.

The company also helps its customers, including technology giant Microsoft, Wall Street bank Morgan Stanley, and AI companies such as OpenAI and Cohere, to create and refine datasets.
