Deputy Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti Widya said MSMEs have a big role in the national economy.

One of the efforts made by the government so that MSMEs can be exported is to assist business polling or business matching through trade representatives in 33 countries.

Roro hopes that this collaboration will also receive support from state-owned companies to be able to increase the value of Indonesian MSMEs.

"Indeed, this business matching is an activity that we often do. Every month we target every trade representative of us abroad. We hope that through this collaboration, the support of state-owned companies can prosper MSMEs and then penetrate the international market," he said at the Ministry of Trade Office, Jakarta, Monday, February 24.

Roro said the Ministry of Trade itself targets MSME exports this year to reach 18.84 US dollars or equivalent to IDR 306.6 trillion (assuming an exchange rate of IDR 16,278 per US dollar).

"We have an export target for MSMEs in 33 countries and in particular for 2025 it is 18.84 billion US dollars in the hope that this could increase from the previous year of 12.54 percent. So, this is our target and we hope through this collaboration," said Roro.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of BUMN Kartika Wirjoatmodjo appreciated the synergy with the Ministry of Trade, especially to make Indonesian MSMEs go global.

"Cooperation with the Ministry of Trade will create our MSME network (network) to be more competitive and go international," he said.

The man who is familiarly called Tiko revealed that so far SOEs have put research on MSMEs, starting from facilitation of financing to market access. Including the MSME development program.

For example, continued Tiko, the PaDi MSME program which has given birth to 54,500 sellers in 2024. Then, 12,000 buyers and 1.9 million products with a total transaction of IDR 58 trillion.

Tiko also said that MSME development could be exported by several state-owned companies.

He also hopes that through this collaboration, trade missions abroad can be improved.

"So hopefully later, apart from being local, we will jointly carry out trade missions in these export destination countries," he said.
