Democratic Party Congress VI Appoints AHY To Return To Be General Chair

JAKARTA - Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) was re-determined as Chairman of the Democratic Party for the period 2025-2030. The determination was made at the plenary session II of the Democratic Party's VI Congress which was held at Ritz Carlton Jakarta.

AHY received 100 percent support from all DPC and DPD throughout Indonesia. Thus, AHY was appointed as general chairman by acclamation.

"Can Mr. Dr. H Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono unanimously be approved as chairman of the Democratic Party for the period 2025-2030, do you agree?" asked the Head of the Democratic Party BPOKK, Herman Khaeron, as chairman of the trial, Monday, February 24.

"Agreed," replied all Democrat cadres.

With the approval of AHY to become the chairman by acclamation, the decree regarding the elected candidate was read out by the Deputy Chairperson of the plenary session II, Edhie Baskoro Yudhono.

In addition to choosing the Ketum, the Democratic Party's VI Congress which will be held until tomorrow will also draw up visions, missions and programs that will be carried out in the next five years. Congress also scheduled the formation of a formatur who prepared the leadership as well as the new management of the Democratic Central Leadership Council for the next five years.

At the close of Congress VI, Tuesday, February 25 tomorrow, President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka are scheduled to attend.

Previously, AHY expressed his readiness to serve as chairman of the Democrats again for the period 2025-2030 after meeting with 38 DPD Chairmen and representatives of the Democratic DPC who supported him at his private residence in the Prapanca area, Jakarta, Sunday, February 23.

"The chairmen of the DPD and DPC expressed their hope that I could or would like to run again as general chairman for the 2025-2030 period. And of course with good intentions, with good faith, I accept," said AHY.
