Spain Disburses 1 Billion Euro Military Aid Package To Ukraine
JAKARTA - Spain will provide Ukraine with a new military aid package worth 1 billion euros ($1.05 billion) this year.
This promise was made by Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez on Monday in Kyiv in an international meeting held on the third anniversary of the Russian invasion.
The package comes as part of a 10-year bilateral security and defense agreement signed in May 2024, according to a Sanchez office statement. Last year, Madrid had sent aid of more than 1 billion euros for Ukraine's defense.
"We will continue to support Ukraine as long as necessary," Sanchez told the leaders at the international summit, stressing the need for Ukrainian and European Union governments to attend every peace negotiations with Moscow.
"Nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine, and nothing about European security without Europe," he stressed.
