Cheap Market Operations At The Post Office, Cabai Rawit Rp55,000 To Buffalo Meat Rp75,000 Per Kg
JAKARTA - The government together with state-owned enterprises (BUMN) held a low-cost food market operation by selling a number of food commodities below the highest retail price (HET). The purpose of this market operation is to stabilize food prices ahead of Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr 2025.
Commodities sold through this cheap market operation include red cayenne pepper of IDR 55,000 per kg from the reference purchase price (HAP) of IDR 40,000 to IDR 57,000 per kg. Then, shallots of IDR 27,000 per kilogram (kg) are lower than HAP of IDR 36,500 to IDR 41,500 per kg.
Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Andi Amran Sulaiman said the inaugural cheap market operation was held to face the holy month of Ramadan at the direction of President Prabowo Subianto.
Furthermore, Amran said that what was interesting about this cheap market operation was the kerybay meat which was sold lower than the Highest Retail Price (HET).
"The most interesting thing about market operations this time is that frozen buffalo is sold at a price of Rp. 75,000 per kg from HET of Rp. 80,000 per kg," he said during the launching of the operation of the cheap food market at the Fatmawati Post Office, Jakarta, Monday, February 24.
For your information, the operation of the cheap food market was held at 325 points of Post Offices spread throughout Indonesia. Consisting of 215 points in Java and 110 outside Java.
SOEs involved in this market operation are Pos Indonesia or PosIND, Perum Bulog, PT RNI, PTPN, PT Berdikari, and PT PPI.
"We appreciate the support of PosIND in providing food distribution locations, so that people can easily obtain basic needs at affordable prices," he said.
Meanwhile, the Director of Courier and Logistics Business at Pos Indonesia Tonggo Marbun added that in the future the opening of low-cost food market operations is targeted to reach all points of the Indonesian Post Office, which are 4,000.
The closest target, continued Tonggo, at the beginning of Ramadan market operations could reach at least 1,000 Post Office points.
"So it will continue gradually, maybe Ramadan will increase by 1,000 to 2,000 and then until the end of Ramadan, hopefully it can gradually increase again, it will increase again according to the expectations of the Minister (Mentan) 4,000 earlier," he said.
