Road To IN2MOTIONFEST 2025, MUFFEST + One Decade Supports Muslim Fashion Industry Growth

JAKARTA - This year, the largest modest fashion event in Indonesia, the Muslim Fashion Festival (MUFFEST) + is entering a decade of implementation. MUFFEST + Road to IN2MOTIONFEST 2025 was officially held by the Indonesian Fashion Chamber (IFC) in synergy with Gemalindo Kreasi Indonesia on February 20-23, 2025 at Hall A, Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC).

Present for the 10th time, MUFFEST + Road to IN2MOTIONFEST 2025 has the theme 'Connecting in Style' which aims to celebrate friendship and solidarity through shared experiences in the Indonesian fashion fashion fashion industry. This theme illustrates the unique combination of urban lifestyles and Indonesian cultural diversity, thus creating a strong identity in the Muslim fashion community.

This theme also means that MUFFEST + is an event that shows the diversity of Indonesian modest fashion styles ranging from street wear, urban and contemporary style, event wear, to syar'i by applying the concept of sustainable or sustainability as an advantage towards the world stage and realizing Indonesia as one of the world's modest fashion centers.

MUFFEST + Road to IN2MOTIONFEST 2025 was officially opened together by Reni Yanita as Director General of Small and Medium Industries and Aneka, Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, Ita Rulina as Executive Director of the Ministry of Sharia Economics and Finance of Bank Indonesia, Lenny Agustin as National Chair of Indonesian Fashion Chamber (IFC), and Irvan Mahidin as CEO of PT. Gemalindo Kreasi Indonesia.

In his remarks, Lenny Agustin, National Chair Indonesian Fashion Chamber (IFC) said, Indonesia's Muslim fashion industry is arguably already advanced and strong in the country and has received international recognition. However, our homework is still very much, including continuing this industry to its next generation. The IFC has many programs that accompany young designers and fashion school students to constantly direct them to be good successors. Currently, Indonesians image themselves as the center of world fashion fashion fashion fashion, and we hope that not only appearances are modest, but also culture, behavior, and responsibility for this earth. MUFFEST+ consistently raises a sustainable lifestyle trend that is connected to modest lifestyle, therefore we often direct Indonesian designers to advance ecosystems in this fashion industry to stay sustainable.

MUFFEST + tak terasa telah mengasamai dan menjadi saksi pertumbuhan industri modest fashion Indonesia, termasuk para pelaku di dalamnya, terutama brand-brand modest fashion. Kalau kita flash back ke tahun 2016, pertama kalinya MUFFEST+ diselenggarakan, banyak peserta yang merupakan brand-brand modest fashion yang baru atau masih berkalam kecil. Kini, di 10 tahun perjalanan MUFFEST+ ini, ternyata brand-brand tersebut telah tumbuh menjadi skala menengah, bahkan menjadi industri besar yang memberikan banyak manfaat, bukan hanya me-dresss up masyarakat Indonesia dengan gay fashion yang keren, tetapi juga memberikan lapangan kerja dan turut berkonkan untuk perekonomian dan kesejahtan masyarakat di sekitarnya, papar Lisa Fitria, Project Director MUFFEST+ Road to IN2MOTIONFEST 2025.

Irvan Mahudin, CEO of PT.Gemalindo Kreasi Indonesia, stated in his remarks, MUFFEST + which was held approximately one month before Eid al-Fitr is expected to be an inspiration and a forum for mutual interaction, creativity, and tradition that complements all of us in welcoming Ramadan and Eid. This year, we are targeting 15 thousand visitors, and the number of transactions we expect above ten billion if we look at the current condition of the Indonesian economy. Hopefully the targets we set can be achieved together. This year is the second year we collaborated with the IFC in organizing the MUFFEST +. The MUFFEST + Road to IN2MOTIONFEST 2025 event consistently presents exhibitions and fashion shows which include more than 130 modest fashion brands and designers, ranging from textile products to Muslim clothing ready to wear and complementary, beauty and cosmetic products, halal lifestyle, to F&B. Inspirational activities also enliven this event such as talk shows and seminars about modest fashion and halal lifestyles.

The opening ceremony of the MUFFEST + Road to IN2MOTIONFEST 2025 presents the work of members of IKRA Indonesia who raised the diversity of leading wastra from a number of regions in Indonesia, namely Rose.Ma.Lina, a member of IKRA Indonesia DKI Jakarta Province, Laili Imra, a member of IKRA Indonesia Riau Province, Lusi Damai, a member of IKRA Indonesia Bali Province, Silla Dawilah, a member of IKRA Indonesia Malang, Sogan Batik Rejodani, a member of IKRA Indonesia Yogyakarta Special Region, and a guest designer Ayu Dyah Andari and Dian Pelangi. IKRA Indonesia is an effort to strengthen modest fashion with strengthening business actors, strengthening products and promotions.

The fashion show series on the first day of the MUFFEST + Road to IN2MOTIONFEST 2025 presents the work of the LPS Fractal Batik House MSME assisted by LPS which is a program to assist and develop the Sukabumi-Cianjur traditional batik ecosystem through Digital Transformation as a manifestation of the LPS Care for Bakti Program for the Country. By presenting a digital technology-based batik development center and cultural traditions to have an economic impact on batik ecosystem players in Sukabumi and Cianjur. The LPS-intentional MSMEs include Eneng Metin (Batik Degung), Diah (Batik Pondok), Dani (Mulya Batik), and Vira (Helianthus Project).

The next fashion show features the work of the brand CHIKIGO by Chiki Fawzi x Lois, Yurita Puji x Dolas Songket, Glashka, Vanilla, and Pelangi Asmara. As the closing of the fashion show on this first day, Wardah presented Strengthening Steps of Kindness, an experience celebrating the journey of women in finding and expressing themselves. Through four different persona, Wardah shows how fashion modest supports every woman to move forward with confidence, beauty, and meaningfulness. Wardah collaborates with four designers and the country's brand as a form of support for the diversity of the beauty and fashion industry, namely Nawasana, Kienka, Cottonink Studio, Muda, and Rasya Shakira.

The fashion show series on the second day of MUFFEST+ Road to IN2MOTIONFEST 2025 opened with NASAWANA X EPSON collaboration, followed by a collection of HJ by Hijacket, GREISY, NovitASari, IFC Community Semarang x Kain Ratu, Li Scarf by Irun Maulana, Hannie Hananto Style by Yopi Saputra, and NBRS Prive. Followed by parade fashion featuring representatives of 14 Chapter Indonesian Fashion Chamber (IFC), namely Jakarta Chapter, Denpasar Chapter, Bandung Chapter, Yogyakarta Chapter, Medan Chapter, Pontianak Chapter, Banda Aceh Chapter, Pekanbaru Chapter, Semarang Chapter, Surabaya Chapter, Malang Chapter, Palembang Chapter, and Padang Chapter.

Complementing fashion shows and exhibitions, MUFFEST + Road to IN2MOTIONFEST 2025 again presents inspiring activities such as talk shows and seminars on modest fashion and halal lifestyle. On the first day, there was a talk show with the theme Fashion Collection, Statement from a Fashion Designer with guest designer speakers Ayu Dyah Andari, Chikita Fauzi, and Indira Hapsari.

On the second day, a talk show with the theme Aesthetic in Sustainable Fashion Zero Waste and Modular with speakers Novi Yuniarti, M.Sn. about Zero Waste Engineering, Retno Andri Pramudyarini S.Sn, M.Pd about Patchwork Engineering, Eva Zulfa Ivana, M.Sn. about Modular Engineering, with moderator Muhammad Fahmi, M.Sn.

In closing the second day of the MUFFEST + Road to IN2MOTIONFEST 2025, talkshows with the theme Transforming Creativity into Revenue: Marketing Strategies for New Businesses opened by Romi Astuti, Fashion Director, Ministry of Creative Economy RI with Rikrik Riesmawan speakers as CEO of NBRS Corporation, Irsasari Joedawinata and Syukriyah Rusydi as Fashion Designer, and Novita Yunus as Owner of Batik Chic. Talkshow continued with Fashion Presentation from Istituto at Moda Burgo Indonesia, ISWI Fashion Academy x Ampik House, Susan Budihardjo Fashion Forward Institute x Random, and the Jakarta Arts Institute x Ria Atelier.

MUFFEST + Road to IN2MOTIONFEST 2025 was held with the support of the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises of the Republic of Indonesia, as well as synergistic cooperation with various parties, namely Wardah Beauty as Official Makeup and Skincare, also supported by the Jakarta Berlian Somerset, Mountoya, Youc1000, and Community Partners: JAMKRINDO, Hijabers Mom Community, and IKA UNDIP Jakarta.
