Money Circulating Reaches IDR 9,232.8 Trillion In January 2025
JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) recorded economic liquidity or money supply in a broad sense (M2) in January 2025 amounting to Rp9,232.8 trillion or grew by 5.9 percent (yoy).
This number is higher than the previous month's growth of 4.8 percent (yoy).
BI Communications Department Executive Director Ramdan Denny Prakoso said the development was driven by narrow money supply (M1) growth of 7.2 percent (yoy) and quasi money of 2.2 percent (yoy).
"The development of M2 in January 2025 was mainly influenced by the development of lending and net foreign assets," he said in his statement, Monday, February 24.
Denny conveyed that credit disbursement in January 2025 grew by 9.6 percent (yoy), relatively stable compared to the previous month's growth of 9.7 percent (yoy).

In addition, net foreign assets grew by 2.4 percent (yoy), higher than the previous month's growth of 0.8 percent (yoy).
Meanwhile, the net bill to the Central Government (Pempus) contracted by 14.3 percent (yoy), after contracting by 17.5 percent (yoy) in the previous month.
