PCO: The President Wants To Have A Stable Food So That Ramadan Is Calm
JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the Presidential Communication Office (PCO) Prita Laura said President Prabowo Subianto wants food stocks and prices to be stable so that people feel calm and comfortable while fasting Ramadan until Eid 2025.
"The president has a program in this month of Ramadan, is Ramadan Peaceful Fun. What kind of calm is it? That prices will be affordable and available to the community," Prita said on the sidelines of attending the launch of the Cheap Food Market Operation in Jakarta as reported by ANTARA, Monday, February 24.
This food price stabilization effort is the government's main focus ahead of the month of Ramadan. In addition, the availability of adequate goods in the market is a priority so that people do not have difficulties in meeting their daily needs.
In facing Lebaran 2025, Prita also said that the Government would provide various discounts on public transportation through the Ministry of Transportation to facilitate people who go home.
"There are various discounts given by the Ministry of Transportation for various community facilities for homecoming," said Prita.
In addition, the Ministry of Trade will also hold various discounts that can be used by the public, both for online shopping and various products from MSMEs that participate in the program.
Not only that, continued Prita, the President ensured that the holiday allowance (THR) would be given to the state civil apparatus (ASN) so that they could celebrate Eid al-Fitr calmly and in accordance with expectations.
"Then there is also THR which of course will also be accepted, especially by ASN. So let's celebrate Ramadan according to the wishes of the President. President Ramadan's message is calm and fun," said Prita.
The government has begun to carry out low-cost food market operations to maintain the stability and affordability of prices for the basic needs of the community in order to welcome the fasting Religious and National Holidays (HBKN) of Ramadan to Eid al-Fitr 2025.
The launch of the cheap food market operation was carried out by Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Andi Amran Sulaiman accompanied by Deputy Minister of Agriculture (Wamentan) Sudaryono, Deputy Minister of BUMN Kartiko Wirjoatmodjo, Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas) Arief Prasetyo Adi, and a number of other officials, centered at the Flora Jakarta Post Office.
"Today, we are carrying out the first market operation (food). First, to face the holy month of Ramadan at the direction of the President of the Republic of Indonesia," said the Minister of Agriculture on the sidelines of launching the food market operation.
The Minister of Agriculture said that the operation of the cheap food market will be carried out throughout Indonesia by involving 4,500 outlets of PT Pos Indonesia. Then the food State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) will be involved in supplying these market operations.
The Minister of Agriculture emphasized that the operation of the cheap food market is very important to maintain stability, and the public gets affordable food prices according to direct orders from President Prabowo Subianto.
"This is on the orders of the President. My brother, my friend, this is an important message," said the Minister of Agriculture.
The operation of the cheap food market will take place from Monday, February 24, 2025 to March 29, 2025.
The five main commodities that will be sold at the Post Office are cooking oil (Minyakita) at a price of Rp. 14,700 per liter, garlic Rp. 32,000 per kilogram (kg), sugar consumption of Rp. 15,000 per kg, frozen buffalo meat Rp. 75,000 per kg, and rice stabilization of Supply and Food Price (SPHP) Rp. 12,000 per kg.
Meanwhile, there are also a number of food SOEs' box cars that also sell food commodities in the Post Office area, such as red cayenne pepper commodities at prices of Rp. 28,000 per 0.5 kg and Rp. 55,000 per kg, shallots Rp. 27,000 per kg, and chicken eggs for Rp. 27,000 per kg.
