Detain The Secretary General Of PDIP, Evidence Of The KPK Firmly And Indiscriminately
JAKARTA The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) officially detained the Secretary-General of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto.
The suspect in the bribery and obstruction of the investigation related to the interim replacement (PAW) of members of the DPR RI was detained at the KPK Detention Center Branch, East Jakarta for 20 days for the investigation process.
The courage of the KPK, which was commanded by Setyo Budiyanto, detained officials from one of the major parties in this country, has drawn appreciation. The KPK has proven that it does not shake in law enforcement even though various pressures hit.
"Indonesia should be proud of the courage of the Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) who did not hesitate to take firm steps in law enforcement, despite the pressures and challenges," said IPR political observer Iwan Setiawan.
Iwan emphasized that the KPK chairman showed extraordinary integrity by ensnaring Hasto as a suspect.
The KPK's work in investigating cases that also involved fugitive Harun Masiku further emphasized that the anti-corruption agency was indiscriminate.
"This bold action is proof that the KPK, as an institution mandated to eradicate corrupt practices, is not indiscriminate in taking action against all forms of abuse of power, both involving individuals from major parties and influential parties in the country," he said.
