Juventus Wins Again, Thiago Motta Doesn't Think Inter Milan And Napoli
JAKARTA - Juventus returned to winning ways after beating Cagliari. A 1-0 win in an Italian Serie A duel at the Sardegna Arena Stadium (Unipol Domus), Monday, February 24, 2025 in the morning, made Juve stay in the Champions League zone. However, coach Thiago Motta refused to think about the competition with Inter Milan and Napoli.
Juve began to show consistency in winning in domestic competitions. Despite being knocked out in the Champions League after losing 4-3 on aggregate against PSV Eindhoven in the playoffs towards the last 16, Juve have a positive trend in Serie A.
In the league, Juve lost the last time earlier this year or January. They were forced to give up Napoli 2-1. After that bad result, Juve won four wins in a row, including a 1-0 win over Inter Milan.
Furthermore, the Bianconeri won again in an away match. Dusan Vlahovic's only goal when the game had only been running for 12 minutes made Juve earn three points.
However, Motta is still not satisfied with Juve's achievements. According to him, Juve should have scored more goals for dominating the game. Moreover, they got two good chances to convert into goals through Vlahovic and Francisco Conceicao.
"We created many chances in the first half. This will be a problem in the second half if our solution is still unsatisfactory. And, we are having a hard time," said Motta.
"We experienced a decline in the second half. We did experience difficulties after not being able to dominate like in the first half. Cagliari was more dominated, but we didn't let opponents develop," he said, praising Vlahovic's performance.
"He came back to play because he deserved to be fielded. We do have a special relationship. He has a strong character and mentality. He also shows professionalism and helps teammates," said Motta again.
The victory over Cagliari made Juve stay in the Champions League zone by being ranked fourth after pocketing 49 points. Juve also maintains a distance of points from the leaders of the standings, Inter.
They are only eight points adrift so La Vecchia rahasia can still hunt down Inter. Meanwhile, Napoli, who are in second place with 56, failed to replace Inter after losing 2-1 against Como.
However, Motta doesn't really think about competing with Inter and Napoli even though the competition leaves 12 games left.
It's just that he hinted that he was ready to compete with the two teams. Apart from Inter and Napoli, there are still Atalanta who maintain their position after destroying Empoli 5-0.

"We have to focus on one game in sight. Especially now that we are entering a crucial period. The competition in the league is very tight and balanced. This week, we witnessed that the top team had difficulty winning," said Motta.
Juve will have two home games. They host Empoli at the Coppa Italia and then face his guests Hellas Verona in the Italian League.
