KPK Asked To Investigate Other Parties Who Help Hasto Hide Harun Masiku
JAKARTA - Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) urges the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to thoroughly investigate the bribery case for the management of interim replacement (PAW) and the obstruction of the investigation that ensnared the Secretary General of the PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto. Including, looking for other actors who helped the politician hide Harun Masiku.
"Because in the case of obstruction to HK it is very likely to involve other parties who should be suspected of being involved in Harun Masiku's escape," said ICW researcher Tibiko Zabar P. in a written statement to reporters quoted on Monday, February 24.
Tibiko reminded the anti-corruption commission not to be complacent because they arrested Hasto. "This is also an important issue to be carried out to dispel the issue of criminalization," he said.
In addition, the KPK was also urged to immediately transfer the case to court. So, everything can be opened before the panel of judges.
"With pressure on the trial, the public will be able to better assess how the construction of this case is," said Tibiko.
Previously reported, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto was officially detained in connection with the bribery case for the interim replacement (PAW) of members of the Indonesian House of Representatives and the obstruction of the investigation on Thursday, February 20. He occupied the State Detention Center Branch of the East Jakarta Class I State Detention Center for 20 days and could be extended according to the needs of investigators

Hasto was charged with Article 21 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption Crimes Jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.
As for the bribery case related to PAW, members of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), the process will be carried out stimulus.
