Firefly Aerospace Prepares To Land Blue Ghost Wahana On The Moon
Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost lander will land on the Moon on March 2. Before entering the landing stage, this spacecraft will complete its last month orbit maneuver.
Blue Ghost is scheduled to end its final maneuver on Monday, February 24. During the maneuver process, this lander will be sent to a low moon orbit that is almost circular. That way, Blue Ghost can be closer to the lunar surface.
If the maneuver goes well, Firefly can prepare the combustion stage. Blue Ghost will complete its Down Orbit insertion about an hour before landing to enter the downward trajectory.
This trajectory will help Blue Ghost arrive at the landing site, namely at the Mare Crisium on the near side of the Moon. Previously, NASA announced that it would broadcast the landing process live on the NASA+ website about 75 minutes before landing.

In addition, live broadcast will also be broadcast on Firefly's YouTube channel. Both NASA and Firefly, both of which only broadcast the landing process. The ten instruments carried by the ride will operate after the landing is confirmed to be successful.
The Blue Ghost landing mission on the Moon is part of NASA's Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) program. This program is the initial campaign to make Artemis a success, space exploration missions and human landings on the Moon.
The Blue Ghost mission is expected to be successful because NASA needs additional data to observe the Moon. These data will show the Moon's surface condition so that NASA can determine the right place to make a landing.
