JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) informed that an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 rocked the Waingapu region, East Sumba Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on Monday, at 02.21 WIB.

The BMKG website in Jakarta noted that the epicenter was 36 km northeast of Waingapu, with a depth of 10 km.

The epicenter of the earthquake was recorded at 9.34 South Latitude and 120.34 East Longitude. BMKG ensures that this earthquake does not have the potential for a tsunami, so that people around the affected areas are advised to remain calm and not be influenced by information that cannot be justified.
