Huawei Launches Hi Nova 12z With 6.67 OLED Screens
JAKARTA - Huawei has launched Hi Nova 12z in China, offering elegant designs, OLED screens, and 108MP main cameras. This smartphone is positioned as a mid-range device. The phone is also equipped with an octa-core chipset, fast charging, and smart software features. This phone is expected to remain exclusive in China.
Hi Nova 12z features a 6.67-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1080\times 2400 pixels, 100% P3 color gamut, and support for 10.7 billion colors. With 395 PPI pixel density and multi-touch support up to 10 points, this phone guarantees smooth and visual interactions that are alive. The design is modern with a punch-hole cutout in the middle for selfie cameras, minimizing bezels.
The phone is powered by an octa-core processor, although Huawei has not yet detailed the chipset used. Hi Nova 12z runs the Android operating system and is equipped with gesture navigation, floating navigation bar, and smart assistants. Other smart features include large folders, payment protection centers, and mobile cloning tools that facilitate data transfer.
In the camera sector, Hi Nova 12z has a dual camera setup on the back, consisting of a 108MP main sensor with an aperture f/1.9 and a 2MP depth sensor for portrait photos. This camera supports a 10x digital zoom and is equipped with electronic image stabilization (EIS) for smoother videos.
There are various photography modes, including night modes, AI-enhanced photography, and slow-motion recording. On the front, the phone has a 32MP selfie camera with an aperture f/2.45, supporting enhanced AI-based beauty and gesture-based shooting. Both front and rear cameras can record videos with a maximum resolution of 1920\times 1080 pixels.
Hi Nova 12z is equipped with a 4,500mAh battery with 66W fast charging support, which can fully charge the battery in about 36 minutes. The phone is also equipped with Huawei's SuperCharge technology for wide charging compatibility.
USB Type-C ports are used for charging and data transfer, although these phones do not have a 3.5mm audio jack and rely on digital audio output via Type-C.

For wireless connectivity, the phone is equipped with dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 5.1, as well as support for global navigation systems such as GPS, BeiDou, and Galileo. The phone also has basic durability to water and dust splashes, but is not equipped with stereo speakers.
Hi Nova 12z is priced at 2,199 yuan (around Rp4.6 million) and is currently listed on Vmall in a single configuration of 8GB + 256GB. However, for now, this phone is running out of stock. This device is available exclusively in the Yaokin Black color variant.
With attractive specifications and competitive prices, Hi Nova 12z is an attractive option for users looking for mid-range phones with advanced features. However, its exclusivity in China may be an obstacle for users abroad.
