Tanah Abang Market Is Invaded By Buyers Ahead Of Ramadan, Traders' Turnover Doubles
JAKARTA - Ahead of the holy month of Ramadan 1466 Hijri, Tanah Abang Market, Central Jakarta, visitors are starting to get crowded with hunting for various fashion needs, ranging from clothes, footwear, to worship equipment such as robe and mukena.
The market atmosphere looks increasingly crowded, as people prepare to welcome the blessed month.
Sukma (43), one of the traders who has been selling in the largest wholesale center in Southeast Asia for decades, revealed that the increase in the number of visitors was felt even before Ramadan arrived.
Every year it is crowded when approaching fasting. But this year it feels more crowded than last year. Alhamdulillah, turnover also goes up," said Sukma with a happy face when met in her stall, as quoted by ANTARA.
To welcome the surge in visitors, Sukma has prepared a variety of superior products such as shoes, blouses, pants, robes, and mukena' products that are always the target of buyers before the fasting month. He even admitted, in the past week, his turnover had almost doubled compared to normal days.
If it fits like this, everything sells. Someone is looking for shoes, casual clothes, until the mukena makes prayers. In this week, turnover can be doubled," he explained.
Sukma is also optimistic, in the next few days, before Ramadan begins, the market crowd will increase.

Tanah Abang Market is not only a magnet for retail buyers, but also for traders from various regions who are looking for large quantities of goods. One of them is Manda (31), a trader from Bogor, who regularly buys clothes from Tanah Abang to resell them at his shop.
I usually buy in big parties here, because the price is tilted and the model options are complete. Later it's just a matter of sending to my subscription stores out of town," explained Manda.
The advantages of wholesale prices and product variations make Tanah Abang Market a prima donna for traders from outside Jakarta. This was also felt by Rozik (53), a trader from Lampung who came to Tanah Abang every year to buy merchandise stocks.
If you are looking for new goods and the price is competing, you will definitely come here. I've been subscribed to it for a long time, I've never moved to another market," he said.
Approaching the month of Ramadan, the economic pulse in Tanah Abang Market is increasingly alive. Traders and buyers are hunting for each other's opportunities, creating a lively and activity-packed market atmosphere.
