Never Wins In Qualification, Indonesia Fails To Qualify For The 2025 FIBA Asia Cup Finals

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Basketball National Team ended the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualification without a win after losing to South Korea with a final score of 63-90 in a match held at the Indonesia Arena, Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta, Sunday.

Indonesia lost six times (0-6) in all matches in Group A with Australia, South Korea and Thailand. The Indonesian basketball team is at the bottom of Group A which is peaked by Australia (6-0), South Korea (4-2), and Thailand (2-4).

Indonesia, which has certainly failed to qualify for the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 before entering the field, played without a burden at the start of the match and could match the game from the visitors. In the first quarter, Abraham Damar et al were only 7 points behind with a score of 17-24.

However, the decline in Indonesia's point productivity in the second quarter, which only scored 7 points, compared to 25 points from Korea, became a momentum for the visitors to maintain their lead.

After halftime, Indonesia returned to play and managed to keep up with the Korean game. Abraham Damar, Yudha Saputera, and Muhamad Arighi repeatedly scored three points which helped Indonesia balance the visitors.

Indonesia only managed to score half a ball in the third quarter with 23-24 score, which made the score 47-73.

In the final quarter, the Head Coach of the Indonesian National Team Johannis Winar fielded a reserve player who also managed to keep up with South Korea's game. Names such as Rio Disi, Ali Bagir, and Julian Chalias managed to add points with a total of 16 points compared to 17 scored by South Korea.

Abraham Damar Grahita leads Indonesia's points with 13 points, Arighi 11 points, and Julian Chalias 10 points. Yudha Saputera provided the most passes with nine assists, although only scoring six points through two tripoins. Meanwhile, naturalized player Total Prosper who also scored six points contributed more under the ring with a record of 10 rebounds.

From Korea, all the players managed to record points with even points distribution. Woosuk Lee 13 points, Yongjun An, Seonghyun Lee, and Yungi Ha both scored 10 points.
