Deputy Of Commission VI DPR: Danantara Leaders Must Understand National Assets

JAKARTA - The Anagata Nusantara Power Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) will be launched by President Prabowo Subianto next week. Reportedly, Prabowo has also decided to change and new Danantara leaders.

Then, ideally what kind of figure serves as the leader of the Danantara?

Deputy Chairman of Commission VI of the House of Representatives, Eko Hendro Purnomo, said that the Danantara leader should ideally be someone who understands Indonesia's national assets.

"If it is the Danantara leader who makes me understand how, one he understands our national assets. In the sense that the word BUMN is anything. Then how to diverge one of the assets to five, which is 100, it can be 1,000," he told reporters, Sunday, February 23.

Moreover, continued Eko, Danantara will manage very large assets reaching more than Rp. 14,000 trillion. This investment agency is expected to operate like the Tamasek holding company, Singapore.

"Especially with this Rp14,000 trillion, this large asset is how to get the best, such as Temasek, and Khazanah friends in Malaysia or CIC in China and so on," he said.

Therefore, said Eko, the Danantara leader must have a vision of how to benefit SOE investment and assets.

"So for me, the vision must be how to be profitable and have the power to leverage assets and also invest in SOEs, that's in Danantara," said Eko.

Regarding the right person to fill the position of the Danantara leader, Eko believes that Prabowo has already determined it and will not make the wrong choice.

"Then when asked who is the head? Who is holding it? I'm sure Pak Prabowo already has a name for that, and I'm sure Pak Prabowo is not wrong to determine who the chairman or head of the Danantara is," he said.
