The Removal Of Joint Leave And Public Holidays 2020 Due To COVID-19
JAKARTA - The government has revised the schedule for joint leave and national holidays 2020. One example of this is leave with Lebaran on May 26-29 which was then shifted to December 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic that occurred in Indonesia.
This was decided in a joint meeting of three relevant ministers, namely, the Minister of Religion, the Minister of Manpower and the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform which was signed in Decree Number 174 of 2020, Number 01 of 2020 and Number 01 of 2020.
The goal of shifting collective leave is an effort to prevent workers from carrying out homecoming during the Eid season. This is because the government does not strictly prohibit homecoming to residents because the flow of homecoming is considered a significant contagion of COVID-19.
"This policy follows up on the President's directive in the Lebaran Anticipation Rule on April 2, 2020 regarding the Appeals not to Go Home and Replacement of Eid Holidays in 2020," said Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy in Jakarta, Thursday, April 9.
There are special considerations why the end of the year is chosen as the time for leave with Eid. Muhadjir predicted that the COVID-19 outbreak would be handled well by the end of the year.
Then, towards the end of the year it also coincided with the children's school holiday. Thus, the family also has enough time to plan their vacation.
He appealed to the public to celebrate Hari Raya in the local area and not to do the Eid homecoming. This is because mobility between provinces will be strictly limited and prioritized for distribution of logistics and medical needs.
"The government has established Government Regulation Number 21 of 2020 concerning Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB). Let's apply health protocols to fight Covid-19," he said.
In addition, Muhadjir also stipulated additional leave with the Prophet Muhammad's birthday on October 28, 2020. Meanwhile, the Eid Al-Fitr holiday will remain on May 24-25, 2020.
Changes to National Holidays and Joint Leave, continued the Coordinating Minister for PMK, were re-stated in the Revised SKB 3 of the Minister Number 391 of 2020, Number 02 of 2020 and Number 02 of 2020 concerning the Second Amendment to the Joint Decree of the Minister of Religion, Minister of Manpower and Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Number 728 of 2019, Number 213 of 2019, Number 01 of 2019 concerning National Holidays and Joint Leave in 2020.
