Propam Checks Cyber Members Of The Central Java Police Regarding The Sukatani Band

JAKARTA - The National Police's Propam Division examined members of the Directorate of Cyber Investigation of the Central Java Police (Central Java) regarding the alleged intimidation behind the Sukatani band's apology to the National Police regarding the lyrics of the song entitled 'Pay Payment' which discussed police officers.

The inspection step was conveyed through the account X @Divipropam which aims to maintain transparency and accountability of the Bhayangkara Corps.

"To ensure professionalism in handling this case, the Divpropam Bureauminal has examined members of the Central Java Police Ditressiber to clarify the problem. This step was taken to maintain transparency and accountability within the Police," quoted from the @Divipropam account, Friday, February 21.

The upload also conveyed the examination as a form of Polri's openness to all criticisms. Especially regarding freedom of expression in democratic society.

"We are committed to continuing to listen to input from the public and improving ourselves for better service. Thank you for your attention and support," wrote the upload.

Previously, the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, had also responded to this matter by stating that he was not anti-critic and accepting it as input for evaluation.

"The National Police is not anti-criticism, criticism as input for evaluation, in accepting criticism, of course we have to be willing and the important thing is that there are improvements and if there may be things that are not in accordance with what can be conveyed, explanations can be given, in principle the Police continue to improve to make improvements," said Sigit.

The punk band from Purbalingga, Sukatani, apologized to the police via video on their social media accounts regarding their song entitled Pay Pay Pay Pay.

In the band's social media upload, two Sukatani band personnel, Muhammad Syifa Al Lufti alias Alectroguy and Novi Citra Indriyati alias Twister Angel, apologized to the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and Polri for the lyrics of the song Pay Pay Pay Pay.

For information, one part of the lyrics to the song is 'to make a driver's license, pay the police, get lost on the road, pay the police'.

"We apologize profusely to the National Police Chief and the National Police for our song by the title Pay Pay, whose lyrics pay the police, which we have sung until it went viral. I actually created this song for police officers who violated the regulations," said Alectroguy.

Alectroguy as the band's guitarist said the song had now been removed from the streaming platform of Spotify's songs.

He also appealed to users of social media platforms to delete content that uses the song.

"With this, I appeal to all users of social media platforms who already have our song with the title Pay Pay Pay, the lyrics of the song pay the police, to delete and withdraw all videos using our songs because if there is a risk in the future, it is not our responsibility," he said.
