Dark Indonesia Demonstration, Red And White Rained

JAKARTA - The 'Illegal Indonesia' mass who are members of the All-Indonesian Student Executive Board (BEMSI) held a demonstration in the Horse Statue area of Jakarta on Friday, February 21, 2025. Wearing all-black clothes, hundreds of demonstrators began arriving around Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat at 14.00 WIB, after traveling from the initial gathering point at Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) Jakarta.

This Indonesia Dark Demonstration from BEM SI filed several demands, namely reviewing Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 1 of 2025 which focuses on spending efficiency in the implementation of the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) and the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) for the 2025 Fiscal Year.

Transparency in the status of public development and taxes, massive evaluation of Free Nutrition Food, rejection of the revision of the troubled Minerba Law, Reject TNI duality, ratify the Asset Confiscation Law, improve the quality of education and health nationally, and reject impunity and resolve gross human rights into other demands voiced by BEM SI. Nine points of demands voiced by BEM SI to President Prabowo's government at the peak of today's demonstration entitled 'Illegal Indonesia' are a symbol of the anxiety and fear of the Indonesian people for the future of the nation.
