47 Regional Heads Have Not Attended The Retret, The Deputy Minister Of Home Affairs Asks To Be Replaced By Representatives To The Regional Secretary

The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) noted that 47 regional heads had not been present at the regional head recruitment at the Magelang Military Academy, Central Java until this evening.

"So 47 are not yet present here," said Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya at the Military Academy in Magelang, Central Java, Friday, February 21.

Bima explained that there should be 503 regional heads who participated in the retreat. Then, 450 regional heads were registered.

Then, as many as 6 regional heads have asked for permission not to take part in the retreat. Of the 6 people who applied for permission, 5 of them were sick and 1 person because they were undergoing a family event.

"For those who submitted the letter so they could not follow, the wisdom of the committee is this for humanitarian reasons, marriage, illness, we can really understand so that we allow not to participate in this series of retreat events in Magelang," said Bima.

On the evening of Thursday, February 20, PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri ordered her party cadre regional head to postpone his presence to Magelang to take part in the retreat.

Regarding dozens of regional heads who have yet to appear in the retreat area, Bima has not been able to confirm whether the whole of them are PDIP cadres or not.

"We have just received data raw, meaning that what is not there is news is that this could come from any background, it could still not come in, it could also be too late, or there are other things, now," he said.

On that occasion, Bima emphasized that the organizing committee was still opening the door for regional heads who would still follow to attend the briefing.

Even though these regional heads were unable to attend, Bima continued, they could represent their presence in the retreat to the deputy regional head. If both of them cannot attend, then they can be represented by the regional secretary (sekda).

"Kalau kepala daerah dan wakil tidak hadir, karena apa yang disampaikan di sini harus sampai ke daerahnya, maka diminta untuk mengirim sekretaris daerahnya, sekredanya. kalau kepala daerah, wakil tidak bisa hadir juga, sekolda menantitung datangnya di sini," jelas Bima.

"Because this event is very important to ensure that the central programs are in sync with programs in the regions, the RPJMD can also be decided quickly, so someone must replace them from regional heads who cannot attend," he added.
