Attorney General Inaugurates PERSAJA Management 2025-2027, Emphasizes Professionalism And Solidity

JAKARTA - Attorney General ST Burhanuddin inaugurated the Central Board of the Indonesian Prosecutors Association (PERSAJA) for the period 2025-2027.

In his remarks, Burhanuddin emphasized the strategic role of PERSAJA as a professional organization that maintains the integrity, professionalism, and dignity of prosecutors.

"PERSAJA has a vital role in maintaining the honor of the Prosecutor's institution and strengthening the image of the prosecutor's profession in the eyes of the public," he said, Friday, February 21.

He also expressed his appreciation to the previous management (2022-2024) for contributing to strengthening public trust in the Prosecutor's Office.

Burhanuddin hopes that the new management can continue to achieve positive achievements and further strengthen the role of PERSAJA in supporting the performance of the prosecutor's office.

The Attorney General highlighted a number of strategic issues that PerSAJA needs to pay attention to, including the implementation of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the National Criminal Code and the discussion of the Draft Criminal Procedure Law (RUU KUHAP). He hopes that PERSAJA can play an active role in ensuring the unity of criminal law interpretations in order to minimize legal uncertainty.

Burhanuddin also emphasized the importance of the prosecutor's involvement in strategic positions outside the Prosecutor's Office, including in international organizations such as the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP). According to him, PERSAJA must support prosecutors who want to contribute to the global forum in order to strengthen the good name of the Prosecutor's Office at the international level.

In the management of PERSAJA 2025-2027, 11 work fields are expected to operate synergically in order to realize the vision and mission of the organization.

The Attorney General emphasized that every work program must reflect professionalism and provide tangible benefits for members and institutions of the Prosecutor's Office.

Ending his remarks, Burhanuddin emphasized the importance of maintaining solidity among prosecutors.

"I have high hopes for all members to continue to strengthen their commitment to implementing Tri Krama Adhyaksa and maintaining the honor of the Prosecutor's Office in every task," he said.

This inauguration is the beginning for PERSAJA's new leadership, which is expected to bring positive changes and further strengthen the role of prosecutors in the Indonesian justice system.
