Indonesian Women's National Team Successfully Wins Over Saudi Arabia, PSSI Hopes To Be An Event To Improve Quality
JAKARTA - The Indonesian women's national team managed to win over Saudi Arabia at the FIFA Women's Matchday event. For this achievement, PSSI through the General Chair (Ketum), Erick Thohir, hopes that in the future Garuda Pertiwi can improve its quality even more.
The meeting of the Indonesian Women's National Team and Saudi Arabia took place at the King Abdullah Sport City Stadium, Jeddah. In the match which took place on Thursday, February 20, 2025, Garuda Pertiwi won 1-0.
"Alhamdulillah, the Indonesian Women's National Team managed to win 1-0 over Saudi Arabia in the FIFA Women's Matchday event. Playing at the opponent's home, Garuda Pertiwi appeared solid and dominated the match," wrote Erick Thohir in a statement on Instagram quoted on Friday, February 21, 2025.

Furthermore, Erick hopes that the international matches that will be played by Satoru Mochizuki's team can improve the quality of the Indonesian Women's National Team.

This result is a successive victory for the Indonesian Women's National Team after previously successfully defeating Malaysia, Singapore and Cambodia.
The Indonesian Women's National Team managed to win 1-0 over Saudi Arabia through a penalty goal from Reva Octaviani in the 31st minute. Garuda Pertiwi got the penalty in the 29th minute after Ajeng Sri Handayani was dropped in the penalty box.
The best player or MVP of the Indonesian Women's National Team in this match is Laita goalkeeper Roati Masykuroh. The player from Arema made many important saves to keep Indonesia's goal clean-sheet.
The Indonesian Women's National Team is scheduled to return to FIFA Women's Matchday in April 2025. This year Garuda Pertiwi will face ASEAN Women's Championship 2025 in June 2025.
