Amazon To Close Chime Video Conference Platform
JAKARTA Amazon not only closes App Store services for Android devices, but also video conferencing applications. Although rarely heard of it, Amazon is the owner of the Chime app.
Through the official Amazon Web Services (AWS) blog, the company announced that Amazon Chime will not accept new subscribers starting February 19. However, this application can still be accessed by customers until February 20 next year.
" EXISTing subscriptions can continue to use Amazon Chime features, including Business Calling, scheduling and organizing meetings, adding and managing users, and other capabilities supported through Amazon Chime's administrative consoles," the company said.
After the specified time next year, users will no longer be able to access the Amazon Chime feature, manage users, or use features like Business Calling. Before the app closes, users are advised to delete their data.

If users want to switch to another video conferencing app, Amazon provides transfer support. Amazon's solution includes a switch to AWS Wickr, Zoom, Webex, or Slack.
It seems that the closure of the Chime app is based on platform support that is not good. Currently, Amazon is getting rid of a number of services that the public does not like, including an Inspire service similar to the TikTok feed.
Amazon may also be reducing services that are not in great demand or are not used by its users. Like Chime, for example, this app is rarely heard, unlike Zoom or other competitors. If searching on platform X, the app also gets a lot of complaints.
