Silsilah Sunan Gunung Jati Based On Naqobah Ansab Morocco
YOGYAKARTA - originally named Syarif Hidayatullah, Sunan Gunung Jati is the son of Syarif Abdullah Umduddin, the ruler of Islamic rule in Champa, and Nyai Rara Santang, the daughter of Prabu Siliwangi.
This article will thoroughly explore the Sunan Gunung Jati lineage, trace the lineage of the parents, and explain how the lineage affects its role in the spread of Islam in the archipelago.
Reporting from the website of the Ta'lif Wan Nasyr Nahdlatul Ulama Institute (LTN NU) Kuningan, here are the notes of the Nasab Syarif Zen Abdul Qodir (Sunan Gunung Jati) compiled based on information from Naqobah Ansab Morocco:
One of Sunan Gunung Jati's sons is Syarif Sulaiman Mojoagung. The records of the Sunan Giri lineage and their descendants are widely found in manuscripts stored in the Kasepuhan and pesantren managed by the descendants of Wali Songo. These leaves are well maintained and updated regularly.
Previously, many parties chose not to publish the teachings of Wali Songo for reasons of humility. However, at this time the manuscript began to be published in the interests of science and as part of the wealth of the Islamic history of the archipelago. This understanding of this lineage is important as part of the intellectual and spiritual wealth of the Indonesian nation.

Naqobah Ansab Morocco, an institution that has the authority to record the lineage, Nasab Syarif Zein Abdul Qodir or better known as Sunan Gunung Jati III, is connected to the Prophet Muhammad SAW.
Sunan Gunung Jati, together with figures known as Wali Songo, are descendants of the Prophet Muhammad SAW from the al-Kazimi al-Husaini and al-Jailani al-Hasani routes.
Wali Songo's nasab records have been verified and recognized by various nasab records in the Middle East, including in Uzbekistan, Lebanon, Iraq, and Morocco. Descendants of the al-Kazimi al-Husaini route, known as Sayyid, include Sunan Ampel, Sunan Bonang, Sunan Drajat, and their families.
Meanwhile, descendants from the al-Jailani al-Hasani route, known as Syarif, include Sunan Giri, Sunan Kudus, Sunan Gunung Jati, and their families.
The Sayyid and Syarif are expected to arrive in the archipelago since the 14th century AD. They then founded a da'wah institution known as Wali Songo.
It should be noted that the number of figures in this institution is not only nine people, but more. Wali Songo is not just a group of individuals, but an institution that has an important role in the spread of Islam in the archipelago.
In carrying out their da'wah mission, these Sayyids and Syarif live side by side with the local community.
They then mingled and were assimilated with local culture, even changing their surnames to more general names such as Raden, Kiai, or Gus.
