PDIP To Jokowi About Megawati Forbids Cadres From Retrets Of Regional Heads: This Is Internal Affairs, Not Outsideers

JAKARTA - Chairman of the PDI-P (PDIP) DPP Said Abdullah responded to the statement of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo who said that all regional heads must take part in the retreat at the Magelang Military Academy from today.

This is in connection with Megawati's instructions prohibiting the regional head of PDIP cadres from undergoing a retreat after PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto was detained by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

"Yes, this is party business, yes, internal business, not outsiders' business," said Said at Megawati's residence, Jalan Teuku Umar, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Friday, February 21.

The chairman of the DPR's Budget Agency (Banggar) did not answer further about his arrival at Megawati's residence. He only admitted that there was an assignment from the general chairman to himself as a cadre.

"There's nothing. I have a task, yes, the cadre has a task," said Said.

Previously, Jokowi said that the retret of regional heads was a government matter. Those who were just inaugurated yesterday were invited directly by President Prabowo Subianto.

Therefore, Jokowi assessed that all regional heads should continue to follow the retreat. Because they were chosen by the people, not belonging to certain parties.

"Yes, it should have been present, come, because they were chosen by the people and for the benefit of the people, nation and state not for others. (Seeing a situation like this) Yes, it's normal," said Jokowi when met at his private residence, Solo, Friday, February 21.

On the evening of Thursday, February 20, PDIP Chairman Megawati Soekarnoputri responded by ordering the head and deputy regional head of her party not to participate in retret activities in Magelang.

Megawati's order was conveyed through letter numbered 7294/IN/DPP/II/2025 issued today, Thursday, February 20 or after PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto was detained by the KPK.

"It was instructed to all regional heads and deputy regional heads of the PDI-P as follows: regional heads and deputy regional heads to postpone travel that will take part in the retret in Magelang on February 21-28," Megawati wrote in a letter obtained from a source on Thursday evening, February 20.

Megawati ordered them to wait for further directions from him if they had traveled.

"If you have been on your way to Magelang City to stop and wait for further directions from the general chairman," he said.
