Menkomdigi Meutya Invites People To Be Wise In The Digital Room And Play Gadgets
JAKARTA - The Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Meutya Hafid, has called for the national movement to manage the use of digital space more wisely, to minimize the negative impact of excessive dependence on gadgets.
According to Meutya, the balance of digital literacy urgency and the balance of physical activity in dealing with the branrot phenomenon can create a decline in mental quality due to consumption of low-quality digital content.
"We must be wise in using technology. The excessive dependence on gadgets and the swift flow of information can have a negative impact on mental quality," said Meutya in her official broadcast quoted Friday, February 21.
The Minister of Trade invited all young people to moderate digital consumption with productive activities such as reading and socializing.
In addition, Meutya emphasized that strong digital education and literacy is the key to overcoming the negative impacts of the digital era.
He encourages the active role of educational institutions in shaping healthy habits in interacting with technology.
"With good digital literacy, we can avoid the bad effects of excessive and uncontrollable information," he said.
