Tanah Abang's New Station Begins To Operate Tomorrow, There Are Changes Up And Down KRL
JAKARTA - PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia or KAI Commuter together with the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation will operate lane 1 platforms in the new Tanah Abang Station starting tomorrow, Saturday, February 22.
VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter, Joni Martinus explained that the operation of lane 1 platforms in this new building will change the access flow of Commuter Line users.
"This change is only specifically for the flow of arrivals and departures of Commuter Line users to Angke Station or Kampung Bandan at Tanah Abang Station, while for other relations or destinations there are no changes," said Joni in an official statement, Friday, February 21.
Joni said that starting tomorrow, Commuter Line users who disembark at Tanah Abang Station from the Manggarai direction will be diverted to the platform of the 1 new station building by accessing the JPO connected to the old building.
Furthermore, Joni said earlier for Commuter Line users who disembarked at Tanah Abang Station from the Manggarai direction or went up to Angke Station and Kampung Bandan at the platform of the 2 old station buildings.
The user of the Commuter Line to Tanah Abang Station from the Manggarai direction and the Commuter Line user to Angke or Kampung Bandan who will board at Tanah Abang Station will use lane 1 platform in the new Tanah Abang Station building, "said Joni.
Meanwhile, for Commuter Line Rangkasbitung users who will transit at Tanah Abang Station to head towards Angke or Kampung Bandan and to Sudirman or Manggarai Station or vice versa, they can access JPOs that connect new buildings with lane 5 and 6 platforms as well as lane 3 in the old station building.
Meanwhile, Rangkasbitung Commuter Line users who will exit lanes 5 and 6, are advised to use the Multipurpose Crossing Bridge (JPM) towards Tanah Abang Market located in the old station building.
"So that there is no congestion at the station JPO and it is more comfortable, Commuter Line Rangkasbitung users who will take part at Tanah Abang Station can use JPM towards Tanah Abang Market," said Joni.
Joni said the change in the flow and waiting platform for users was also an effort to reduce congestion on the station's 2 and 3 old buildings while waiting for the Commuter Line trip to Sudirman or Manggarai Station and the destination of Duri or Angke Station.
