Nikita Mirzani Named A Suspect In The Alleged Extortion Case, Lawyer Firmly Denies

JAKARTA - Nikita Mirzani's attorney, Fahmi Bachmid, confirmed that there was no element of extortion in the extortion case his client was facing.

He emphasized that the allegations were baseless and needed to be investigated more deeply.

"I make sure, there is no extortion. In my opinion, as a lawyer, there is no extortion," said Fahmi Bachmid when contacted, Thursday, February 20.

According to Fahmi, what happened was actually a request for help to conduct a positive review.

Nikita Mirzani is said to have been contracted to conduct a review, and the payment for the contract had also been agreed beforehand.

"Those who have a request for help, Nikita is asked to have a good review. After that it is contracted, the contract will be paid again, ask to remind them. There are all the conversations with Ismail Marzuki alias Mail," he continued.

Furthermore, regarding the status of the suspect, Fahmi explained that the status of the suspect does not automatically mean that someone has committed a criminal act.

He emphasized that in this case a correct interpretation of a legal expert is needed so that there is no mistake in understanding the case.

"The suspect does not mean committing a criminal act. This is an act that requires the correct interpretation of an expert. It cannot be interpreted that there is a criminal act," he said.

Fahmi also highlighted the role of the police in reading the articles alleged to Nikita Mirzani does not mean that his client did.

He emphasized that further evidentiary processes were needed to ascertain whether it was true that a criminal act had occurred as alleged.

"Mr. Public Relations only reads the alleged article. Does it really happen, it needs proof," he said.

Previously, the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Ade Ary Syam announced that Nikita Mirzani was named a case of alleged extortion reported by cosmetic entrepreneur Reza Gladys.

"It is true, the sisters NM (Nikita Mirzani) and Sdr IM (Mail) have been named suspects by the Investigators of the Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya based on sufficient evidence and based on the results of the case title," said Ade Ary.
